Your day's jobs
How a technician finds today's work in the Technician app, sorts it by distance or date, and opens a job to start.
Tap Jobs at the bottom of the screen. The heading says My Jobs. Everything here is assigned to you.
The chips across the top
A row of chips sits above the list. Each one carries a count.
- All — every job you have.
- Today — jobs scheduled for today. Most technicians start here.
- Then one chip for each stage your company uses, such as In progress or Completed. Your company chooses these names and their order, so yours will not match another company's.
Tap a chip to filter the list. The app opens on Today unless your office picked a different chip.
If your company does not use stages, the chips read All, Today, Pending Review, Approved and Paid instead. Those describe where the money on the job has reached, not the work.
Put the list in the order you want
Tap the sort icon in the top bar. A sheet opens: Sort jobs by.
| Choice | What it does |
|---|---|
| Nearby | Closest job first, using your phone's location |
| By date | Soonest or most recent first |
| My order | The order you drag them into |
Nearby needs location switched on. Without it the app says Location off — showing by date and sorts by date.
If you pick My order, an arrange button appears beside the sort icon.
Tap the arrange button
The Arrange my order screen opens.
Drag a job where you want it
Use the grip on the right, or long-press anywhere on the row.
Use Move to top or Move to bottom for a big jump
Reset puts the list back the way it was.
Tap Done
Your order is saved and your jobs list keeps it.
What a job card shows
Each card carries the job title, the scheduled time as Today, Tomorrow or a date, the current stage, and a High or Urgent tag when the office marked it that way.
Two buttons sit on every card:
- Navigate opens Google Maps with the customer's address.
- Call dials the customer.
Open a job
Tap the card. The job screen opens with the job number at the top.
The screen is a list of sections. You will see some of these, depending on what your company uses:
- Work description — what the office wrote for you. You cannot change it.
- Checklist — tap a row to tick it off.
- Parts used and Services
- Jobsheet — where you create the completion sheet.
- Invoice
- Photos
- Payments collected
- Work status
- Activity — a record of everything that happened on this job.
See Record your work for what to do in each one.
The check-in banner
If the top of the job says Check in to start working, you have not marked attendance yet. Until you do, you cannot add parts, add photos or file a sheet. Tap Check in on the banner. It takes you to the Attendance tab.
See Mark attendance.
Message the office
Tap the chat icon in the top bar, or swipe in from the right edge. A panel called Messages opens. You can send text, a photo, a video or a voice note.
A message the office marked urgent shows as a banner at the top of the job. Tap it to read the whole thing.
When the list is empty
- No jobs scheduled for today — nothing is booked for you today. Check the All chip.
- No jobs assigned yet — the office has not given you anything.
- No jobs in [chip name] — that chip is empty. Try another.
Pull the list down to refresh it.
